GRV to Trial New Kennelling Procedure

From 1 February, 2015 Greyhound Racing Victoria will trial new kennelling arrangements that will give trainers access to their greyhounds.

GRV has received many requests from industry participants – including the GOTBA – to provide a solution for greyhounds being kennelled for a lengthy duration on race day.

Currently the kennels open 75 minutes before the first race with a requirement that greyhounds for the entire meeting are kennelled 30 minutes before the first race. Whilst the kennels are all air conditioned there is no access afforded to trainers/handlers once kennelled.
