Tornado lands gold with record run

Tornado Tears (pictured above in rug six) further entrenched his standing as Australia’s premier stayer when taking out the Group 1 Gold Cup (710m) at Albion Park on Thursday night in a track record 41.33sec.

Trained in Victoria by Robert Britton, Tornado Tears won by four lengths over Queenslander Jalapeno and his litter brother and kennelmate, Rippin’ Sam, to claim a $75,000 first prize.

Breeder and part-owner, Michael Ivers couldn’t have been more impressed by Tornado Tears.
