Champion local sprinter True Vintage notched her fourth consecutive win in taking out the 1988 final of the Launceston Cup by six lengths over the 502-metre trip. True Vintage would go on to win 15 races on end to set a Tasmanian record for the most consecutive victories recorded in the island state.

The John Westerlo-trained Lukeamy won the 2005 National Futurity at Wentworth Park by a neck from Miss Bekkie Lee and All Style with future Golden Easter Egg winner Edie Beauchamp a close fourth.
