Retired: Old boy Oaklands still has the looks

224 start veteran Oaklands has retired and unlike many, he doesn’t have a single grey hair to show his age.

Owned and trained by Gary Edwards in Broadford for every single one of his 224 starts, which included 31 wins and 75 minor placings.

Described as remarkable and enduing by Gary and wife Rae, I don’t think they are far off the mark. He may not have had his name alongside group race glory, but he did provide happiness and intrigue among the greyhound racing community.
