Victorian star My Silver Chisel tonight won his way into the Group 2 Queensland Derby final, justifying trainer David Burnett’s decision to head to Queensland instead of Saturday night’s Group 1 Perth Cup heats.
Burnett this week described My Silver Chisel as ‘the complete package’, and he now has nine wins from 22 starts to his name.
A son of Magic Sprite and Silver Avenue, My Silver Chisel defeated Zabdon Ferrari after exiting box six. Dundee Osprey, the only other Victorian-trained greyhound to contest the Derby heats, finished third, just missing out on a place in next Thursday night’s final.
