Orson career comes to a sudden end

Champion sprinter Orson Allen has been retired after sustaining a hamstring injury at The Meadows last night.

Despite finishing out of the placings in the Victorian Final of the National Sprint Championship yesterday, Orson Allen qualified for the Group 1 National Sprint Grand Final in Perth as a wild card.

His place in the final will be taken by the first reserve, local greyhound Starlight Yoyo.

Orson Allen will now stand at stud in Victoria with Paul Westerveld alongside Fernando Bale.

Trainer Correy Grenfell said the decision to retire Orson Allen was a mutual one between himself and (owners) the Wheeler family.
