Greyhound Racing Victoria releases draft Penalty Guidelines – Greyhound Welfare 2018 for public comment

Greyhound Racing Victoria is seeking public comment on its draft Penalty Guidelines – Greyhound Welfare 2018.

The draft guidelines will be released on 15 December for a six-week consultation period ending 2 February.

The draft guidelines, which update an earlier document released in 2014, put forward guidelines for GRV and the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board in relation to a range of penalties for greyhound welfare offences committed within the greyhound racing industry.

GRV has proposed penalties that are in line with community expectations and apply a strict approach to serious non-compliance, while allowing for discretion for incidents that are not as serious.
