Brilliant Bareki

It’s been a whirlwind – and record-breaking – weekend for Golden Square trainer Dallas Massina.

In the final race on G2 Ballarat Cup night, Bareki (Mar ’18 Barcia Bale x Nallak) set a new 390-metre track record, clocking a sizzling 21.61sec. She shaved a half-length off the previous mark established by Arizona Dozer in January 2013.

Contesting a Grade Five, Bareki ($1.40F) rocketed out of box two to defeat Love Heart ($7.20) by nine lengths. An emerging talent, Bareki notched her seventh win, with three seconds, from 10 starts.
