MY Silver Chisel will start as the favourite in next week’s Group 2 Queensland Derby (520m) after a dominant heat display at Albion Park on Thursday night.
Despite being drawn awkwardly in box six, the son of Magic Sprite and Silver Avenue was able to overcome a fair beginning, striding up three wide in the run through the first turn to get a nice sit just behind the leaders in the back straight.
