In the last Gosford Gold Cup to be run over the 485 metres trip, Lansdowne Flyer defeated I’m Groovy and Arizona Raider to take out the 2002 version. It was also the first Gosford Gold Cup to be run at Group (3) level.

Seek And Destroy took out the 2011 Association Cup at Wentworth Park, the last occasion the event was run in January. The Anthony Azzopardi-trained stayer defeated Queensland champion Dashing Corsair by just over a length to take home the $50,000 first prize.
