The bells are ringing for Victoria in National Distance

Ring The Bell has claimed his first group victory in the pinnacle of group races, the 2016 National Distance Championship at Angle Park tonight.

Trainer Gerry O’Keeffe’s (pictured) year continues to reach new heights following litter sister Bells Are Ringin’s victory in the Group One Sandown Cup at Sandown Park. The Group victory contributed to Gerry’s Ned Bryant ‘Silver Fox’ award, which was presented to Gerry at the Victorian Greyhound Awards last Friday night at Sandown.

Ring The Bell was $2.50 favourite in a field made up of Australia’s best stayers. Parsec Bale and Springvale Bryne finished second and third respectively.
