Long road to recovery for Monique Hynes

Greyhound trainer Monique Hynes, who suffered serious injuries in a fatal car crash on the way home from the Shepparton greyhounds on May 2, has undergone her second surgery at Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital.

Monique was travelling home to Anakie with Passeggiata, a greyhound trained by her fiancée Jack Campbell and owned by Geoff Slattery.

Sadly, Passeggiata, who won on the night, had to be euthanised two days after the crash because of a ruptured diaphragm.

Monique Hynes, who is 29, received multiple fractures and internal injuries.
