Local chaser steals the show in Sunday’s Darwin Cup heats

LOCAL chaser Arnhen Villain was the standout performer at Winnellie Park on Sunday evening, taking out its heat of the Group 3 Darwin Cup (537m) in commanding style.

Jumping fairly from box four, the brindle dog was outpaced in the run to the line on the first occasion by Queensland visitor Miss Jackpot (box eight), settling in second spot around the first turn.
