Lack of early speed to hold back Tears

Leading greyhound trainer Robert Britton is downplaying the chances of his budding superstar Here’s Tears in Saturday night’s Group 1 Fanta Bale Super Stayers Final (725m) at The Meadows.

A full younger brother to five-time Group 1 winning stayer Tornado Tears, Here’s Tears (pictured above left) franked his potential with a track record run over 715m at Sandown Park last month.

He has had two starts for two 2nds since that phenomenal run, and he is on the third line of betting at $4.50 to claim the $100,000 first prize after drawing box two.
