“I go to the Sale Cup every year because it is such a great night out but I had never done anything like being a judge in the Colours on Course. I think the competition is a really good way to encourage attendance and I loved being a part of it.”
The Gippsland Carnival will now continue into the Warragul Cup (January 28), Cranbourne Cup (February 11) and finally the Traralgon Cup (March 25), with each of these events providing an entertaining, low-cost night out including Turbo’s Trackside kids section, the Punters Club, Food Trucks, the chance to meet retired race dogs from the Greyhound Adoption Program, as well as witness the exciting greyhound racing action.
Hurunui Jack has had a win and a second placing at Warragul since his victory on Sale Cup night, taking his career record to an impressive 10 starts for four wins and three minor placings.

Olivia is hopeful that trainer David Agius of Rosedale will continue to race the promising youngster throughout the Gippsland Carnival.
“I have been involved in greyhound racing for over 12 years and having a series like the Gippsland Carnival is great to be a part of, not just as a greyhound owner but as a local. The Sale Cup had a great community feel about it and I’m sure that will continue into the remaining three legs of the Carnival.”
Olivia is set to continue her role as a judge in the Colours on Course competition throughout the Gippsland Carnival, while she will also take on a much greater involvement in the Traralgon Cup, having just accepted an administration role with the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club.

Greyhound breeder and owner Olivia Alcock (pictured on far left) will long remember Boxing Day’s Sale Cup race meeting, which kicked off greyhound racing’s inaugural Gippsland Carnival.
Not only did Olivia own one of the winners on Sale Cup night in Hurunui Jack, but she was also a judge in the Colours on Course fashion competition, in which racegoers dressed in the same colours of the greyhound’s race rugs for the chance to win some great prize packs.
