The 100+ greyhounds trialled in four-dog fields on Saturday morning before going to auction that afternoon, with a handful fetching more than $20,000, including a top price of $25,000.
There were plenty of experts and novices among the estimated 700 strong crowd, including many first time buyers.
Among the many ‘in the know’ were elite trainers Robert Britton and Darren McDonald, as well as top breeders such as Carl McGrath, Des Dooley and Paul Bartolo.
