Aston Bolero ($3.10Fav), pictured, has finally landed his first win at group level after taking out tonight’s Group 2 3BO 93.5 Bendigo Cup (425m).

The son of Fabregas and Aston Dream has had an outstanding career, winning 27 races from 45 starts heading into the Bendigo Cup final.

For Pearcedale trainer Jason Thompson, it was his fourth Bendigo Cup win in the space of 10 years.
“We haven’t had a lot of luck with Aston Bolero in big races but we had some tonight,” said Thompson, who also acknowledged owner and breeder Ray Borda.
