Owner/breeders David Gleeson and Bob Cummings are hoping Shima Song can achieve something her mother, former star stayer Shimaguni, wasn’t able to do when she lines up in Saturday night’s Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park.
Shimaguni was a prodigiously talented stayer, however Group 1 glory eluded her in four attempts, being unfortunate to run into WA champion Miata when placed in both the Association Cup and Galaxy in early 2012.
